The President does not sign a TPS designation himself, because federal law gives that determination to the Secretary of Homeland Security after consultation with other agencies. What the President can do is direct his administration to complete the required review of conditions in Ukraine promptly, publicly back an 18 month extension and a redesignation, and make Ukrainian re-parole processing a priority at USCIS. This letter goes to the White House and asks for exactly that, before the October 19, 2026 expiration.
