Welcome to Ukrainian-American Portal ("UAPortal," "we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using uaportal.org, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the site.

1. Eligibility

You must use the site in compliance with applicable law. By using the site, you represent that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

2. Purpose of the Site

UAPortal provides informational, civic engagement, advocacy, and educational tools related to Ukraine-related legislation, congressional engagement, and public affairs. The site may include:

  • bill and cosponsor information;
  • representative lookup tools;
  • sample letters, call scripts, and social media content;
  • training and advocacy materials;
  • donation links and nonprofit support information.

3. No Government Affiliation

UAPortal is an independent platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the U.S. Congress, any Member of Congress, any congressional office, Congress.gov, or any federal, state, or local government agency.

4. No Legal, Tax, or Professional Advice

All content is provided for informational, educational, and advocacy purposes only. Nothing on the site constitutes legal advice, tax advice, immigration advice, lobbying compliance advice, or other professional advice. Your use of the site does not create an attorney-client relationship or any other professional relationship.

5. Legislative and Public Information

We aim to provide useful and timely legislative information, but we do not guarantee that bill summaries, legislative status, cosponsor counts, committee information, member data, or other public affairs information is complete, current, or error-free. Legislative information changes frequently. Users should verify important facts through official sources, including Congress.gov and official congressional offices.

6. Advocacy Tools and User Responsibility

The site may provide sample letters, call scripts, and prewritten posts. These materials are optional templates for civic participation. You are solely responsible for:

  • reviewing and personalizing any content before use;
  • ensuring that any statements you send are accurate and appropriate;
  • complying with applicable laws, policies, platform rules, and office-specific communication requirements.

Use of our templates does not guarantee any reply, policy outcome, sponsorship decision, or legislative result.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the site for unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, abusive, or misleading conduct;
  • interfere with site security or operations;
  • scrape, crawl, copy, or harvest content or data at scale without authorization;
  • upload malicious code or attempt unauthorized access;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent affiliation;
  • use the site to generate spam or mass communications in violation of law or platform rules.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the site's design, text, graphics, logos, compilations, and original content are owned by or licensed to UAPortal and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We are not responsible for third-party content, services, privacy practices, terms, or availability. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and policies.

10. Donations

If you choose to donate through a linked third-party platform, your transaction may be processed by that third party. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of donation services and are not responsible for third-party payment processing errors. Any tax treatment of donations depends on applicable law and your individual circumstances. Nothing on the site constitutes tax advice.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The site and all content, features, and services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, UAPortal, Svitanok NYC Inc., and their officers, directors, volunteers, staff, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, use, goodwill, donations, business, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the site.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the site shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless UAPortal, Svitanok NYC Inc., and their officers, directors, volunteers, contractors, affiliates, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the site, your violation of these Terms, or your misuse of advocacy materials or third-party services.

14. Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the site at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you violated these Terms or if necessary to protect the site, users, or the organization.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles, except to the extent superseded by applicable federal law.
