New Britain is the spiritual heart of the Ukrainian American community in southern New England and a critical organizing base. The state delegation is among the most reliably supportive of Ukraine in the country. Advocacy here is about thanking advocates and building coalition with neighboring Massachusetts and New York communities. Pratt and Whitney engine production for F-16s flown by Ukraine is a powerful framing. Sikorsky helicopters are likely central to any future Ukraine helicopter package.
